Simply Adorned

I had fun making this little gem. These necklaces and bracelets by Stampin' Up give the serious stamping addict the opportunity to take a little of your addiction where ever you go! They are easily customized with buttons, bows, vintage beads, and charms. The charm on this baby is the 1x1 and inside are two images stamped with the new Mini Tags stamp set. Who knows? The next time you see me wearing this baby, I might even have figured out a way to incorporate my Troll Beads!

Beads, beads, beads........

Sweet Pea Felt Flowers

I love the new Sweet Pea felt flowers from Stampin' Up. This pin was inspired by a picture of Buffy wearing one of these flowers at last weekend's Love At First Stamp meeting. While I couldn't attend, Susan and Kim were kind enough to let me know what happened, and attach pictures. Thanks for the inspiration!

I also used a holder from the Hodgepodge Hardware set as a background frame, and some vintage beads left over from some old jewelry projects.

I can't wait to find some time to create a slew of these! I'm thinking of a Jewelry Camp for April, along with the Simply Adorned charms and chains. They may be this year's Mother's Day gifts! I hope Stampin Up keeps the Simply Adorned line in the next IBC. What a great way to entice those people who might not be so interested in stamps, to all the cool things SU has to offer!

My Updated Blog List

Long before I started my own blog, I was saving other stamping blogs under my favorites. Well my husband has decided to grace me with a newer laptop, so I needed to update my list so I can continue to check out all these great blogs - and now I can peek from anywhere when I need a little break or 'sunshine' during my day. There are so many talented Stampin' Up demos out there, I love seeing so many different things that can be created using the same materials - it's truly amazing!

The new computer makes uploading photos so much easier, I can just insert the card right out of the camera, but it will be much easier to use when Rick gets around to installing Word for me. I don't think I truly appreciate how useful that program is, and how much I use it until I don't have it. So until then I am between two laptops, one in the bedroom and one in the living room!

As soon as everyone is up, I will post some new projects for the week!

Eggcellent Eggs Class

I absolutely love the Eggcellent Eggs Kit. I challenged myself to decorate the dozen eggs I purchased at Joanne's Fabric, and then see how many greeting cards I could get in addition to the eggs. Well as you can see I have created 4 different cards, and though I only photographed 6 eggs, I did decorate all 12!

I will be holding a class to make 6 eggs, and create all 4 of these cards. Attendees will receive the directions to recreate the cards at home, plus the leftovers from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit. If you are interested, email me for details!

A Lone Cupcake

I pull out some of the Stampin' supplies today, and decided to create a CAS style card. It was also a Cased card, though I can't remember where I saw it. The blending and highlighting wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I guess I just need more practice!

Sorry the picture isn't very clear. I keep forgetting my camera in my desk at work, and Emma's doesn't work as well.

Sick Child

Hi Everyone,

Today I was blog hopping and found an entry from a fellow Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Lisa Flynn whose grandson is in the hospital. Lisa is trying to cheer him and has asked that anyone who wants to help can send him a card, and get well wishes to the hospital. I may run out to the Dollar Store later, and was thinking of picking up a few small items that could go into a small gift bag, or box. If you'd like to help her blog is www.thestampcampcounselor.com

Valentines for Emma's Teachers

Emma's school - like many in our area - has a Wellness Policy that does not allow candy, or anything sugary to be served at school - so in keeping with that policy I decided to send in some desk sets for her teacher, math teacher, and the parent volunteer who is always in the classroom helping out. I got the idea for the altered notepads from StampinAddicts.com I believe it was one of the challenges in the 3-D category, but I'm not sure who's idea it was. It was super easy to case - and if you know me at all, you know I love trying out everyone else's ideas! :)

Well that's all my stamping for the weekend. We have our grand daughter over so I had to put everything away. I'm still working on convincing the hubby that I need a stamping studio far more than he needs a home office for his full time home business!

SNOW DAY!

In case anyone's interested - this is how a snow day is spent at my house!!!

It's been 7 1/2 hours since I got the phone call that school was canceled. We are just now seeing some actually fall from the sky...but since it was so late in arriving - dare I hope for a second snow day tomorrow?

Get Well Set

My husband has a friend he is fond of who is recovering from surgery in Boston. We anticipate she'll be there for some time as I think the surgery was in preparation for cancer treatments - so she's pretty sick.

I thought she might like to have something to jot down things she wants to remember, etc while she is away, so I made a post it note holder to match the get well card. The mini gel pens don't fit inside the note holder so I altered it to be on the outside, and decorated the pen as well.

All products are from SU, except for the flower on the Post It Holder, which is from Prima and has been sitting in my stash for some time.

Thanks for Looking!

Well Scripted Birthday Cards

I absolutely love the new SU Butterfly Embosslit. I was not going to order it at first because I have the Bigz Beautiful Butterfly Die, but its really versatile and the uses are endless. Wait till you see the project I am planning using both of the butterfly dies! I really have something extra special planned for my granddaughter's room. I didn't get to it for Christmas, maybe she'll get it for Easter!

It was fun to spend the weekend stamping! It felt like I was away from it all for so long. Emma gave all of us a stomach bug about three weeks ago...just as we were getting over that we all got hit with a nasty head cold, and then this past week she and I both ended up on antibiotics for all of the various infections that can result from having a cold for so long. I was afraid to get any germs on cards I might give away-although I'm unsure if anything could be passed that way-I didn't want to take a chance!

My Chocolate Bunny

This little guy took me all day to get right. I don't think I ever spent so much time working on a card to get it 'just right'. I started by water coloring some Prima Flowers I had on hand from waaay back and used So Saffron, Rose Red, and Taken with Teal. The color combination was great with the rest of the card, but since they aren't SUO I wasn't sure I wanted to use them on this card. Then I remembered the Eggscellent Eggs Kit from the new Stampin' Up Mini that I hadn't broken out yet and FINALLY I managed to get the right combination. It doesn't show up very well in the picture but I also sponged some Pretty in Pink in the center of the circle with the Bunny.

I love the new Eggscellent Eggs Kit. I am going to have to visit the Christmas Tree Shop or AC Moore to see if I can find some undecorated faux eggs to embellish for family Easter Gifts.

Twice I had to use the sanding block on this card because I am such a klutz - I always have extra ink on my fingers - and I always smudge my cards!

I held onto those Prima flowers, and I probably will recreate the original idea with them, but have to save that for another day!

Sending Love Punches

I always try to use up as much of SU's great Designer Papers as I can. On this card I used any scraps that fit into the Scallop Square Punch, then embellished with buttons, ribbons, punches and stamps! I think it came out kinda cool, don't you?
