Sweet Pea Birthday Card

This card was put together using the Butterfly Print DSP from the new Sweet Pea Pad. The butterfly was made using the new Embosslit Die from Sizzix with Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink, the Well Scripted Birthday is stamped in Whisper White. The card stock used is Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, and Pretty in Pink. I think that Rose Red and Chocolate Chip are one of my new favorite color combinations!

When I first saw a preview of the Butterfly Embosslit I wondered why Stampin' Up would put out a second set of butterflies from Sizzex, but I have to admit that the teeny butterflies it punches out are way too cute to be passed up! I find myself using them all the time.

Blog Candy

Today I was going to post a pic of the gorgeous sympathy card I made for my sister and her family (her children lost their grandmother earlier this week) but the pics all came out blurry, and I made it quickly yesterday morning before we left for her house so I will have to recreate it for a happier event.

It's the craziest thing that I feel as though I spend so much time stamping and never have enough cards on hand to send out. My dear patient husband points this out frequently, usually as I am putting something together while getting dressed and putting on makeup. The bad thing about that is that sometimes the cards end up wearing more makeup than me! hehehe Tonight I am putting aside some time for stamping since we will have our grand-daughter for the weekend and there will be absolutely no extra time for stamping at that point!

We had a weekend that turned from a crazy busy to an even crazier week - so I never had a chance to post the winner of my blog candy drawing. Kim comments in my blog almost everytime I leave a post, so it was no surprise that her odds were great! And of course Emma pulled her name outta the hat - so to speak! I will be mailing that out to you this weekend - I hope you like the goodies I put together Kim!

The More The Merrier

I woke up this morning with a vision of this card in my head and had to put it all together. I usually spend some time late at night blog hopping and viewing galleries for inspiration, so maybe I ran across something similar last night? Anyway I really like the way this card turned out, and if I could change anything on it I would have used a Teal ribbon across the top. But since I don't have any teal ribbon on hand, the pink will do.

One of my personal goals - or resolutions - in the new year is to have a supply of cards for birthdays, get well, and anniversaries on hand. I frequently find myself running out to buy cards for birthdays and other occasions because things come up, and I don't have enough time to pull it together. Isn't that the craziest thing? I have some ideas in my head to make up a supply of kids cards, and include some kinds of kits for them to embellish themselves - like cupcake cards with glitter and glue sticks, or hand made stickers.... Well although it probably won't happen today - Rick has other plans for us - when I get to them I will be sure to post them here!

Details about this card:

Ribbon: Pink Satin (Occasions Mini)
Stamps: The More The Merrier (IBC Hostess Set) and Well Scripted (Occasions Mini)
Ink: Stayz On Black, Taken with Teal, Pretty In Pink, Rose Red
Paper: Whisper White, Sweet Pea DSP (Occasions Mini)
Accessories: Scallop Punch, Sweet Pea Flowers, Mini-Heart Punch (All from the Occasions Mini), Glue Dots

Don't forget to leave a comment - Emma will be picking a name from a hat later today!

A link to the tutorial to make these card holders can be found on StampinAddicts.com or at stampwithstephanie.com

Thanks Stephanie for the great tutorial!

The Love Bandit Stole My Heart!

Here's my version of the Love Bandit card that was featured in Stampin' Success Magazine from Stampin' Up. In this card I used the Love Bandit stamp set from the current Mini-Catalog (which can be downloaded from the column on the right) and the Clouds are from the Good Neighbors Set in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog (also linked in the right column); cardstock in Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip. The Old Olive Designer Paper from Sweet Pea, and the light pink banner came from last year's Mini, which was sold with the Love you Much Bundle. I always save my scraps for teeny projects like this-and Pink Pirouette (now retired) was one of my favorite Stampin' Up colors of all time. It looks great with all these colors, so I hope they bring it back at some point-but if not, I did stock up on it!!

As a special offer to my hostesses in February I am offering a bundle that includes the Good Neighbors Stamp Set and the coordinating Welcome Neighbor Designer Series Paper Pad just for holding a workshop. During the Sale - A - Bration Promotion hostesses how hold a $300 workshop qualify for a free item out of the Sale-A-Bration catalog in addition to the normal hostess benefits! Email me or call to book your February workshop now!

p.s. Don't forget to say hello so that I know you've been here. Tomorrow I will announce the winner of the Blog Candy I'm giving away! :)

Throughly Modern Gift Set

One of my staff members is leaving our programs to complete her practicum. All of us are sorry to see her go, and the kids are especially going to miss her. I put together this gift set for her. In addition to a few file folders, I created a pocket folder using the tutorial that was posted on SCS, a set of note cards, an altered calendar and matching pen. I sure hope she is fond of the color pink!

Playing Catch - Up on my Blog

Here are some note cards I am hoping to bring to a local flower shop-provided I can manage to find enough time to create a decent stash to make a trip over there. I was inspired to use up some of the Lovely Lines Rub-Ons from the current catalog. I love the color combinations!

Mini Birthday Card

Here is another birthday card made during January's stamp club This Birthday Card was made from the Sweet Pea paper in the new Mini-Catalog, as well as the Well Scripted Stamp Set, Chocolate Chip and So Saffron Card Stock and Old Olive ink. Cindyrae also designed this one. Isn't it adorable?

Up All Night Stamping

Well maybe not up ALL night, just for the 2nd half! This treat bag was made with Stampin' Up products only, using the Love You Much stamp set. The bag topper is the Top Note Die from Stampin' Up and Sizzex; it fits perfectly over the cellophane treat bags. The biggest hearts are stamped on Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla paper with Rose Red and Chocolate Chip ink. They were then cut out and layered on top of each other with Stampin' Dimensionals. The smaller hearts are stamped and punched out using the coordinating heart punch and stuck on with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive. The ribbon is also from Stampin' Up in Rose Red, as well as the button and linen thread.

The only thing Not Stampin' Up is the cherry hearts. Those were by Brach's...I think.

Brr Waiting for Spring?

These little guys will be sure to warm your heart! They are stamped with THE MORE THE MERRIER Hostess Set from Page 10 of the current catalog. I used black Stayz On and a watercolor technique to color in the snowmen and the snow using Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa. The image is embellished with Dazzling Diamonds, and both circles were cut out using the Sizzix Big Shot. The tiny snowballs on the bottom are punched with the 1/2 inch punch.

This card is one of my favorites, but not my original idea. I CASEd it from SCS, the original can be found in the blackbird creations gallery on Split Coast Stampers.

Happy New Year!

This is the Birthday card I made for my DH. I try really hard not to jip him when his birthday is so close to Christmas, but it usually works out okay because he plans a night or two away for us. One of these years I might surprise him and do the planning for him, but at least he's getting something he wants! Tonight we're heading into Boston, and most likely we'll be spending the day with his Mom tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Rick!

Secret Santa Gifts
